Education Business in Indonesia (and in the world) is it just a degree?

Education in Indonesia .. lately has been influenced much by business. Not all of them of course, but now I'd like to explore much on the edu-business side.

We have heard a lot of education business in Indonesia. Many new educational institution were established, and most of them are for Business. Education not for personal & national development. But it is established for business..

Case 1 Finding Job nowadays becomes much harder than before, number of unemployed people is increasing.. Poor people are everywhere..

Thats why, such institution's target are usually hi-school graduates who are looking for a fast track education who can brings them closer to a career. Not the quality of the education itself was emphasize, but : "if you join us, we'll find you jobs.. guarantee not more than 3 months, you'll get a job"

It was like that. After getting job? the goal is achieved, the institution has done its work. Finished. Everyone satisfied : the student (got a job), and the institutuion (becomes well known), the HR Dept of the company(very easy recruitment!)... it looks fine but.. ? Is the QUALITY really there?

Case 2 Having good career is indeed important for young executives. Having acknowledgment and appreciation is very important for some upper level people. They need respect from other people. .. then how to answer the need?

Well.. some of educational institution, have bravely called themselves as University (in fact they are companies, not a true uni).. and.. they offer you what so called a "degree".. more than just Sarjana degree or Magister degree but they offer an international accepted degree such as Bachelor Degree or Master Degree .. such as BBA or MBA ! Well.. do you think it must be very hard to achieve MBA degree inside Indonesia? Not at all!

One of this kind of company (who label themselves as West Coast University Surabaya Indonesia) offered me a-Cannot-Believe Package for IDR 28 mio, include:
- ONE YEAR study for double degree (MBA & MM)
- The place is at PTC-Supermall
- The class will be only twice in a week for 3 hours each

- No admission procedures
- No test for joining this program, everyone is accepted!

- No UTS / UAS (Mid/Final Examination)
- No need to wait for one semester to join this program, you can always enroll every month!

Just pay the Fee, wait & come to class for one year and Pops! U got MBA & MM degree! This "university" also offers a fantastic promo of cicilan Rp. 1.100.000 / month! Cooperation with Mandiri bank.. Well well.. sound interesting .. but hey, is the QUALITY really there?

From both cases.. i think Case1 is still acceptable. The quality is still there, depends on the organizer of the institution, if it is good, then the quality i believe can be good also.. but if the organizer/ the management didnt pay attention for it, then it will be no more than just "makelar kerja" but since cases like Case 1 are non-degree program.. i think it is still acceptable anyway..

For Case 2
Well.. i cannot really 100% blame those institution for offering such programs (i dunno whether it ignores quality of the education itself.. ) the needs of people has changed from a real true qualified education to ... a fast-track & instant education which brings them closer to what they want to achieve

Business people always try to "find a need and fill it" and that s why I called such education institutions as "business"

... like the "university" i mentioned above, it is managed by a company not a yayasan. So, it is Perusahaan instead of Yayasan Pendidikan ! So how do they earn a "right" to give MBA degree to students?.. well ... sort of franchise, but its more like joint venture please see below example

This university has a website which mentioned their strategy, which is to have small classes around the world.

They wont build a huge well-known uni-building, but
more small classes only. (Like in Indonesia : Ruko at Citiwalk PTC Supermall)

For those of you who re interested in easy degree achievement, this kind of "university" might be good opportunity for you..

But for those who expect more than just a degree...
I think its better for you to make sure that you are entering a university which is not managed by any corporation or company in the world! For me, in Educational field (with Degree) for the pengelola..
Yayasan is still better than perusahaan, anyway.

Why? Because Perusahaan's orientation is always PROFIT, and Education with Degree.. i think it too valuable to be traded by corporate's profit.

which makes me know that there are 2 WCU at US, the one is the official nursery university, the other is the "franchise/joint venturer University" who gives license of operation to countries in the world.

Movie: Narnia's Prince Caspian

Last Saturday, Me & Fey watched the 2nd movie of Narnia titled PRINCE CASPIAN.

Well.. it s so much to say about this movie..

The movie is great, as great as the first narnia movie: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe... and there are reasons why I love these Narnia movies:

1. Watching Narnia's movies are just like reading bible in a creative way. Depsite some of their pagan points, both Narnia movies reflect the Christianity Values a lot, really a lot. Watching the movies made my spirit and faith encouraged. Thanks to Mr. Lewis (the author) and Mr. Adamson (the director & producer)

2. They have simple story and easy to understand even if we havent read the book. The have clear storyline and become one of the movie which I called "Understand more in Movies than reading the books" I put Narnia on the same level with Lord of The Rings and Eragon. While imo, Harry Potter is include "Understand more in reading books than movies"


Special for this NARNIA : PRINCE CASPIAN.. two thumbs up for:

1. The Cast : All of the Penesive Siblings are well performed by the actor/actress, the Prince Caspian is also goood, and ehm.. handsome :)

2. The Plot : In the book, the story of Prince Caspian was told by the draft. In the movie, the director is able to tell the story of Prince Caspian directly to the audience without using the dwarft as the intermediary. Good work!

3. The values which I learned, which I called as the best part of this movie:
- Overall I give a theme for this movie : HOPE

- We, human, always think that we are good enugh, clever enough.. and think that we can do everything by our own selves. There s nothing we couldnt do. Human think. It is shown in the way Peter & Caspian decide whether they should attack Miraz or defend on the cave. "Die Here, or Die There" But Lucy represented as faith, mentioned "There are not only those two ways of fighting this war, there is Aslan" and as usual Human say "How long we should wait for Aslan (God)?" Where is He when we have problems??? --> it is so us.

- When the plan and the human strategy failed, hope becomes disappear.. we try to find "the alternative way" of facing the war, which is by re-woke the White Witch (in our human world: going to dukun, etc:P) .. it happens in real world though..

- When we try to find way, the one who really looking for God will see God directing the way: No one sees Aslan directing the way, except Lucy, who really longs for God.. it happens when they try to find how to go out from Telmarine.

- When everything seems to be wrong, and nothing human can do, barulah human comes to God (our character to put God not in first but in last position!) proven .. when Peter & all were attacked by Telmarine, they know they wont win using their own strength. At that time, Peter ask Lucy to find Aslan.

- And Yes! Although human (we) are stubborn, but God never leave us. Aslan still willing to help Narnians.. although they put Him in the last priority.

Well.. I do learn a lot from this movie


That s all my review for this movie.. overall I give 90 /100 for this Narnia movie.

BBM Naik (lagi)

Semalam, pulang dari jaga resto.. sekitar jam 23.00 jalanan si Surabaya ngga seperti biasanya. Hari-hari biasa, sekitar jam 23.00 jalan-jalan sudah mulai sepi (walaupun tetap ada mobil, tapi kepadatannya sangat jauh dibandingkan suasana jam 20.00-21.00)

Nah, malam kemarin aku cukup heran banyak mobil berkeliaran di jalan, en ngga biasanya masuk gerbang tol Satelit-Waru jam 23.00 masi pake antre. Biasanya langsung bablas krn tol sepi..

Nyetir sendirian.. aku sambil mikir2 ada apa ya...? kok tiba2 rame?? wooo.. begitu lewat pombensin a.yani, baru nyadar! Apalagi melihat antrean yang panjang dan penjagaan polisi yang ketat.. hm.. mulai hari ini tgl 24 Mei, BBM Naik jadi Rp. 6000 (premium) dan rp. 5500 (solar).. so pasti semaleman orang2 berebut antree beli BBM..

Wah dengan kenaikan 28,7% ini, kemungkinan kenaikan barang2 lain juga hanya tinggal tunggu waktu. Untuk bahan-bahan pokok, pasti harga langsung melejit, tapi untuk secondary goods, mungkin masi bisa ditahan 1-4 minggu depends on resourcesnya. Sebelum bahas lebih lanjut.. nengok dulu ke data harga BBM di negara lain dibawah ini (nyadur dari blognya Wiel, thanks ya wiel)

Jika secara numerik dibandingkan.. maka harga di indonesia relatif masih lebih murah.. namun.. melihat tingkat kesejahteraan ekonomi di sini, harga tersebut bisa dikatorikan memberatkan rakyat.

Study case: USA dengan tingkat peradaban yang jauh lebih maju, dan perekonomian rakyat / GDP jauh lebih tinggi dari Indonesia.. menjual fuel dengan harga Rp. 7.047.. hanya selisih sedikit dengan yang ada di Indo!

Ide memberikan BLT sudah baik, but this is Indonesia man, I believe distribusi BLT belum bisa adil dan terorganisir dengan baik.. , BLT = good idea, but unrealistic implementation karena personally, kemungkinan mencapai sasaran hanya 30% saja.. 70%nya bisa2 dikorup atau malah diberikan kepada keluarga yang tidak benar2 membutuhkan.

Hm.. well.. menanggapi kenaikan harga BBM ini gimana donk?
Masa kita harus ikut antre BLT? Hehehe, kalu kita yang bisa pakai uang untuk koneksi i-net dan blogging gini.. mustinya ya kasi kesempatan buat KK yg memang membutuhkan untuk BLT nya.. Tapi.. kalo ada yang mau ngasi aku BLT juga boleh lho =D misal BLT berupa rumah mewah di graha family ato citraland :D wakakakaa....

Anyway, daripada pusing2 gimana kalu pindah ke Venezuela aja? Rp. 325,- per litre!! Cool man, come on lets go to Venezuela!!!

Do you think I'm 30 years old?

Okay.

Now lets start with this very common question : "How old am I?"
(I give you 2 mins for thinking)

Now, give me the answer.

For those who have known me since schooldays, I am sure your answer will be true, or closely true.
For those who knew me after I graduated from college.. hm.. well.. lets see..

I have made a survey (resarch! =) in my current office by asking some people to guess my age. And.. more than 80% of the respondants answer wrongly. None of them thought I am as young as 24.

The most common anwer, according to people in my office, is my age will be around 26-27! The worst, one of them mentioned that my age must be around 30s !

Me? 30s????
Shen me??? Wo?? San shi ????? Ni xiang wo shi sanshi sui? Arrrgghhh.. Wo gau su ni, jin nian wo shi er shi si sui ! Bu shi sanshi sui. Come on.. dont give me 30 please... Ni zhidao ma ?!?! --> emosi banget ceritanya :P

After calming down ... (hehehe)

Anyway, the next question.. Why do people think I am older than 24?
and there are some posibilities of answering that question:

a. My face looks older than my age
b. The way I dress, not suitable with my current age
c. My haircut is too oldfashioned for a 24 yearsold woman
d. My behaviors, the way I walk, talk, joke or discuss. ... have covered my true age
e. The way I think, is it like what an old lady supposed to think?

And the answer is.....
......
..
I dont know. :)


Ps: Although it is annoying.. but sometimes it is useful for me to be acknowledged as 27s.. some people appreciate me more because they thought I am older than them (in fact I might be younger than them :D hahahhaha)

However, I enjoy my life very much, how old people think I am, wouldnt stop me from doing what I desire and reaching my dreams.. =)

My Musical History Part I

Akhirnya.. setelah sekian lama ... aku bisa nulis juga tentang my musical history :)

Part 1 ini, sesuai kesepakatan :) berisi tentang sejarah pelayanan musik di GKI Parakan.. yaitu selama aku SD-SMP..

Les Organ or Electone pertama kali sama om-H (inisial aja ya) umur 10 taon kayanya.. waktu itu kelas 4 SD.. belajar electone karena dipakasa papa, dan sak karepe dewe .. en kebetulan om-H ini bukan dari Yamaha.. inilah asal mula kenapa aku kebiasa untuk "hearing" instead of "reading" musical notes.

Buat temen2 yang ambil kursus formal semacam di YMI (Yamaha Music Indonesia).. pastilah semua lancar membaca not balok. Lain dengan aku yang awal muasalnya les privat dengan guru yang bukan dari YMI, telinga ini terlalu dimanja sehingga bikin murid malas membaca hahaha.

Alhasil sampai skr aku sama sekali ngga lancar baca not balok, bisa pun nyepel2 (spelling pelan2 gitu).. anyway.. aku tetep bersyukur, walopun waktu itu aku maleeeeeeessss banget (banyak kejadian aneh2 waktu les ama om-H termsuk kegiatan "duet penyerangan musuh" ama si Boncel, trus berbagai kegiatan terorisme terhadap guru kami lakukan... ada 3 kegiatan terorisme yang bener2 berkesan... hehe:

- Memasang Jebakan penggaris melengkung (penggaris yang jamaan SD dulu bisa melengkung kalu dipukulin ke tangan, kita taru di tangga, jadi om-H kejebret waktu turun tangga!)
-Jebakan Bubuk Sakti: Menabur bedak di lantai marmer (bikin licin apalagi om-H pakai kaus kaki jadi gampang kepleset)
- Jebakan Suara Misterius (taruh perekam suara berbentuk boneka beo ditutupi kain) lalu diplay ulang jadi si om-H bingung kok ada suara persis ama dia.. huahuahua

Semuanya kita lakukan berdua, sembari aku les, si Boncel menyiapkan perlatan.. strateginya sudah kita susun beberpa waktu sebelumnya.. pokoknya seru hahahahaa!

Biar dulu agak bandel, tapi aku juga tetep ikut pelayanan musik di gereja lho..

Debut pertamaku adalah memenangkan juara 1 Lomba Vocal & PS Sekolah Minggu se-GKI Klasis Magelang yang aku iringi dengan musik sederhana irama Mars.

Kejadian lucu : Di desa parakan kami pakai organ yang jelek.. tahun 1993 (bukan digital), nah waktu lomba di Magelang, heran skali aku kok ada electone yang digital (sistem tombol electric bukan lagi manual yang didorong2 itu :P) 1 jam aku abisin buat latihan pakai electone ala "kota".. dan tetep ngga menguasai.. akhirnya nyerah, waktu anak2 GKI Parakan maju aku main seakan2 itu electone yang di Parakan... huahuahua... nyatanya? berhasil jadi juara 1 !

Setelah itu..mulai deh sering pelayanan bareng2 anak2 SM..

Setelah jadi organis anak-anak SM, naik pangkat nih jadi organis remaja (karena aku masuk SMP =P).. Moment inilah aku pertama kali belajar main 4 nada dasar: C.D.F.G, sebenernya belajar 1 lagi : Bb, tapi sampe skr ngga lancar hahaha..
Selama SMP aku ngiringi di kebaktian Remaja, ngga terlalu jagoan, tapi yah, sangat ala kadarnya deh..

Others: Selain aktif di gereja, aku juga mayan aktif di permusikan di skul, menjadi conductor paduan suara sekolah, dan routine vocalist untuk setiap event kelusan skul.. annually.. nah kalu mau aku inget2..

1. kelas 3 SD dengan baju kuning (tahun 1993), song : Kasih (pasti lemah lembut)
2. kelas 4 SD dengan baju ungu (tahun 1994), song : Denpasar Moon (pertama kali nyanyi bahasa inggris :P)
3. kelas 5 SD dengan baju putih-pink (tahun 1995), song: Lagu-nya Ira.S (lupa judule)
4. Kelas 6SD dengan baju hijau (tahun 1996) song: lupaaaa
5. Kelas 1 SMP pakai seragam (tahun 1997 nyanyi duet ama Eny) song: Hening-nya Chrisye
6. Kelas 2 SMP pakai seragam (nyanyi ber 3, trio with Pyenk and Foen) song : Stop! nya Spice Girls.

kalu diinget2 malu juga ya .. kok dulu bisa pede tampil di depan umum padahal kemampuan pas2an hahahaha.. masa kecil yang terlalu pede deh.. kadang bikin tengsin nih :P cuma yah.. never regret apa yang uda terjadi di masa lalu..

So.. that s it... sekedar cerita mengenai pengalaman musikal selama SD-SMP..

Food: Festival Jajan Bango

Sabtu lalu, 10 Mei 2008, aku n Fey nyempetin mampir ke FJB di lapangan Brawijaya. Sebelumnya, kami berdua ngga pernah dateng di FJB, so this is our first visit.. thanks to Jie yang kasi info soal FJB ini =)

Ga ada ekspetasi apa2 sebelum nyampe ke tempatnya, begitu masuk... Wow..
langsung semangat ini naik! Buanyak stand makanan berjajar-jajar, membuat hati berdebar2... sayang waktu itu perut kami udah dalam keadaan kenyang, jadi ga bisa makan di tempat.. cuma tetep seneng ati ini liat begitu banyak penikmat dan penjaja kuliner berkumpul di satu tempat yang sama.. seru!

Sebagai awal, saya n Fey mengambil jalur sayap kiri dulu.. menyusuri stand2 makanan yang semuanya terkenal enak... hm.. yummy.. sampai akhirnya kami berhenti tepat di depan stand Tengkleng Bu Edi Solo. Begitu lihat judulnya si Fey langsung semangat: "Wah! ni tengkleng enak yang dari Solo itu!" Berhubung dia kan asalnya dari Solo, jadi percaya aja deh... tyus kita beli tengkleng. . Hm.. sebelumnya aku juga blm perna makan tengkleng, jadi sempet bingung tengkleng ini makanan kaya apa ya? Stelah dicermati, tengkleng ini makanan semacam gule kambing tapi rasanya beda.. hm.. dari bentuknya saja sudah keliatan sangat empuk and yummy... cuma yang bikin agak "gimana" gitu adalah karena aku ga biasa makan jeroan kambing (maksimal sate ati kambing Pak Samin/Deddy- Solo) selain itu blm pernah nyoba jeroan2 kambing yang lain... anyaway.. tetep deh tak beli , apalagi liat si Fey yang sangat menggebu2 dengan mupeng-nya (muka pengen =).. so setelah beli bungkus (krn mau dimakan di rumah ama keluarga) kita lanjutkan perjalanan mengelilingi FJB....

Whoa! Ternyata buanyak buanget makanan yang keliatan enak tapi blm pernah tak coba.. wah wah wah.. selain bebek cak Yudi, ada beberpa makanan yang pengen banget tak beli.. such as sate buntel (ternyata aku kehabisan! hiks hiks hiks..)

Ada juga gado-gado arjuna yang terkenal itu, bakso cak to. bu rudy juga ada... wah pokoe uakeh buanget..

Perkiraan yah.. puluhan ampir ratusan stand berjajar2.. kalu 1 stand bisa 10 menu.. bisa ribuan tuh jenis makanan yang disediakan di FJB kali ini.. keren yagh..

Jadi sueneng.. en bener2 ga nyesel dateng ke FJB, dibela2in juga layak bener...
Next time kalu ada FJB lagi, so pasti aku akan datang lageeee

Food: Udang Bakar Madu - Mang Engking

Baru-baru ini ada makanan baru yang lagi ngetrend, terutama bagi penggermar udang:
UDANG BAKAR MADU.. hm.. =)

Udang bakar madu ini pertama kali saya makan di gubug udang Mang Engking - Jogjakarta sekitar 5 tahun lalu. Tempatnya bukan di pusat kota Jogja, melainkan di sebuah pertambakan di sawah.. lokasinya pun cukup jauh sekitar 45 menit perjalanan dari Jogja..

5 tahun lalu..
Lokasi Gubug-nya sangat sederhana dan nylempit (sangat rawan nyasar tanpa bantuan Ko In sang penunjuk jalan) tiba di lokasi, kami ga nyadar itu adalah tempat makan karena ngga ada penunjuk / billboardnya blas.. dan sangat ngga mirip restoran.. setelah parkir di pinggir sawah.. kami masuk..ke lokasi gubug makan yang terdiri hanya total 2 gubung saja (maksimal mampu menampung 5-6 meja doank) menu andalan disajikan ... here goes UDANG BAKAR MADU, first time i tried hm... memang menu ini langka dan ... rasanya.. wuih.. lumayan enak ternyata, jadi ga rugi dibela2in dateng jauh2.. dehh... Selanjutnya, setiap ke Jogja (min 1 taon 2x) pasti mampir deh ke gubug mang engking ini.. karena banyak anggota keluarga yang suka.

5 tahun berikutnya (present day)
Bisnis si Mang Engking ternyata sukses berat.. dia ternyata mampu membangun bisnis ini jadi besar.. terbukti dengan membuka 3 cabang besar..

Cabang pertama di Kota Jogja.. lokasi di Jl. Godean.. Mang Engking beli properti bekas restaurant eropa untuk dia pakai.. yang kata orang2... senilai 6M, cash. Jadilah Resto Mang Engking hadir di Kota-Jogja.. dengan kapasitas muat puluhan meja..

Awal Mei lalu, aku, papa, mama, ko in, om sam, kak yusak & lady.. sempetin menjenguk resto Mang Engking yang di kota Jogja.. gaya restonya unik.. dengan model kastil (sangat ngga nyambung ama konsep Gubug Udang Mang Engking - branding selama 5 taon itu) yah maklum bangunan yang dibeli bekas resto steak eropa sih..

Kata Papa : "Kaya Kastil Drakula !" hahaha
Kata aku : "Kaya Hogwarts !" Huehueue

Sayang foto yang aku ambil dari luar ga jelas krn malem dah gelap sih..en cuma modal HP w830i.. yah jadi ga dapet gambar bagus...


Anyway.. aku masuk ke kastil mang engking malem2.. serasa masuk ke Hogwarts dan menunggu diseleksi oleh The Sorting Hat hehehe.. jadi inget Harry Potter buku pertama. Pas si Harry dateng ke Hogwarts pertama kali kan juga malem2gitu... intinya...uasananya sangat ngga nyambung ama konsep Gubug Udang khas Mang Engking yang traditional en cozy itu...


Syukurlah di bagian luar ada tambahan "gubug" tambahan diluar sana.. gubugnya jelas beda ama gubug pertama-nya mang engking yang di luar kota.. gubug yang di cabang ini, gubug keren yang memang hi-class dibuat untuk dekorasi.. bukan gubug beneran.. yah intinya mending banget makan di gubug ini daripada di kastil drakula nya.. hahaha

Akhirnya menu yang ditunggu2 keluar juga: GRILL SHRIMP WITH HONEY...

Rasa udangnya cukup enak.. dan bisa direkomendasikan .. walaupun blm bisa masuk ke area "My Favourite"

Susahnya udang bakar madu tetep ada cangkang lengkap dengan kepalanya.. jadi musti nitili lage dehh..

Lagian, ukurannya lebih kecil dari tahun-tahun lalu pas aku makan di gubug yang di pinggir sawah itu.. hm... anyaway, rasanya memang not bad.. cuma buatku.. masih kurang sempurna aja.. karena rasa enaknya kurang nresep ampe ke dalem udang (kena cangkang sih)

Sambil makan, se-keluarga pada ngobrol soal mang engking ini, dan ternyata ada berita baru.. Mang Engking baru jual Franchise di Jakarta yang kabarnya senilai 1,3M.. dan ternyata laris manis juga! Franchise selanjutnya, dengan harga sama.. dibuka di daerah Pandaan, Surabaya.. kalu yang ini.. dah pernah denger dari temen yang nyoba di sono.. jauh tempatnya (kata si temen) tapi enak rasanya..

Well.. kesimpulannya:
Menurutku yang paling hebat dari Mang Engking.. bukan hanya Udang Bakar Madu-nya, tapi sense of business nya yang wow... patut diacungi dua jempol!

flu. udh 4 hari. haching2 melulu di kantor =S

untung badan ngga panas en demam, cuma idung ini aja ga bs dijak kerjasama..

Pilek adalah gejala yang timbul karena Influenza atau yang juga biasa lebih dikenal dengan nama Flu dan merupakan penyakit menular yang disebabkan oleh RNA virus dari famili orthomyxoviridae. Pilek bukan hanya menyerang manusia tetapi juga binatang.

Tiga jenis kelompok virus penyebab flu

Virus influenza A
Menjangkiti mamalia (manusia, kuda, monyet, babi dan juga burung). Virus jenis A adalah virus yang biasanya mematikan dan penyebab epidemis dan pandemis. Tersusun atas dua protein virus (haemaglutinin dan neuraminidase) yang penting bagi siklus kehidupan virus.Virus ini menyerang sistem pernafasan yang ditularkan dari satu orang yang terinfeksi ke orang lain melalui udara atau air.

Virus Influenza B
Menjangkiti hanya manusia.

Virus influenza C
Menjangkiti hanya manusia.

Gejala Flu
Gejala yang sering (mungkin) timbul yaitu :
Demam
Pusing
Kelelahan (bahkan bisa sangat parah)
Batuk kering
Kerongkongan gatal
Hidung mampet dan bersin-bersin
Badan sakit
Flu dapat menjadi sangat mematikan terutama bagi orang yang lemah, sakit kronis.

Felix Felicis! I wish I could have a bottle of that potion..

Felix Felicis is a potion that makes its drinker "lucky" or brings more good fortune than usual. Felix Felicis is a very complicated potion to brew, normally taking six months or more. Somehow, Professor Slughorn has some available for the first N.E.W.T.-level Potions class in Harry's sixth year, despite his having arrived at Hogwarts on the Hogwarts Express less than a week before. Today, I woke up with some lousy feelings.. Many things didnt work well yesterday, problems in resto, office, and ministry are waiting to be solved.. By TODAY.. while I was in very low & bad physical condition..

Suddenly in blink, comes to my mind about this Felix Felicis.. how great, if I can have a bottle of that potion in my office desk, now. I dreamed my works will be finished in a second, and problems will be solved without doing anything. Do nothing, Get Anything.. woa..what a selfish .. but yet.. very joyful life afterall..

Now.. back to earth:
I do not need any drink to make me lucky. Good fortune would never come from a bottle. It comes from God..
God wouldnt give "luck" without any reason. And one of the reason might be "we have already done the works well".. .. well i guess it really make sense..

Karena Cinta

One of the most memorable time in our family life..

30 April 2008.
A surprise party for my Mom and Dad who celebrated their 25-years of marriage.


Yosa and me had prepared this ocassion a month before, we made the plan, and finally published it 10 days before the d-day to our uncles, aunties, brothers and sisters. Luckily, all of them are enthisiasts and very cooperative in preparing this suprise party..

At 29 evening, Yosa had already arrived at Jogja, while I was still arranging, preparing and installing some exhibitions stuffs at AJBS Surabaya. Very heavy schedule, by 23.00, I left the building, and finalized some reports at warnet near my boarding house.. and the story goes..

30 April 2008
SURABAYA
01.00 --> Tired after finalizing all office works, I slept
05.00 --> woke up, feel all my bones like crushing.. start packing for "mudik", mandi etc
05.45--> doing arrangement for other office works..
06.15 --> Left the boarding house, picked Fey, and rode to Gubeng train station.
07.05 --> Inside Sancaka train.. bye bye Surabaya.. (5 hours in train: planning the party in details, writing wedding poem.. and sleeping :P)

JOGJA
12.30 -> Arrival at Jogja, picked up by Ko In, Om Sam and Yosa, went for lunch
13.00 --> Finished lunch, went to Ko In's house prepared gift wrapping & packing.
13.30 --> Cake dressing at Parsley Bakery
14.00 --> Left Jogja, practice singing in car =P

PARAKAN
16.00 --> Arrival at Sebokarang, Parakan: "strategy discussion" with Pak Yusak & Lady
16.30 --> Practiced singing with Piano
17.00 --> Nervous
17.30 --> Went to church, waiting (Mom & Dad were having their own agenda at church, include singing "Tulang Rusuk" song, they didnt know their children and bro/sis were waiting outside nervously =)
18.30 --> Entered the church, sang "Karena Cinta"... Mom and Dad were extremely suprised.. and banyak yang terharu lho :P
18.35 --> The Surprise Party Started:
"Wedding Vow" by Mom & Dad...
"Weding Ring Ceremonial" lead by Pak Yusak & Lady
"Potong Kue Pengantin, suap2an .. " by Mom & Dad
19.00 --> Dinner together di halaman gereja =)
20.00 --> Ringkes2
21.00 --> Went Home.. exhausted.. unpack our stuffs.. gift opening.. hapiness sharings with our Mom & Dad..
22.00 --> Exhausted, slept.

What a feeling (for me), to see how happy our parents with their children' presence on thier 25 years marriage celebration.. (everyone loves surprises anyway)

The most touching part:
When our parents were asked by MC about their feeling when they saw the children were coming, my Dad said: " We are proud to have children who love God like we do" --> wah kaya pilem2 huehuehue jadi mengharukan :P

But honestly, It was one of the best moment in my life..
